Cannabis Skin Care

As state marijuana laws change in connection to the use and sale of cannabis it′s use in beauty products is changing as well. Though hemp seed oil has been used in skin care products for a long time now other cannabis plant components are starting to make their way into skin care products and spa services as well (in states where it is legal). There is even a spa in Colorado that offers cannabis infused products and spa services.

Setting The Record Straight

First things first it is important to note that hemp seed oil will in no shape or form get you high, even if you eat it. In order to experience the mind altering affects of marijuana you need to smoke it or consume it, not apply it to your skin. Even the latest crop of skin care products that have CBD (more on that below) in them will not get you high. So rest assured you can enjoy all the anti-aging and antioxidant benefits of this ingredient without testing positive for a drug test.

Cannabis oil and hemp seed oil come from very different strains of the cannabis family. Think different breeds of dogs, cats or horses. Cannabis Oil is made from leaves/flowers of cannabis plants (Cannabis Sativa = Marijuana varieties) that have been breed by man for high levels of cannabinoids like THC and CBD. On the other hand hemp seed oil is made from crushing the seeds of a different variety of cannabis plants (Cannabis Sativa L. = Hemp) that have been breed for hemp seed oil which does not contain THC and is safe and nutritious for all to consume.
